- PERSEVERING means we don’t give up even when it’s hard.
- PERSISTENCE says, “I am not going to quit!”
- Kids who are PERSISTENT don’t get upset or discouraged when things aren’t going our way. EMA kids are tough and they don’t give up and they work hard when it is hard work.
- Anyone can succeed when it’s easy. It’s way more important to try hard when things are hard. Does anyone know what grit is?
- No matter what your goal, if you only have the energy for two or three attempts, don’t even bother. You aren’t going to reach your big goals unless you refuse to surrender.
- “Never give up! Never surrender!” (Tim Allen in Galaxy Quest)
- Success requires hundreds, or even thousands, of attempts.
- If you want to win you need to keep learning! The more you know the faster you will go! (ie: if you spend your time learning about martial arts you will get better, faster. The same applies to almost everything).
- Thousands of kids start martial arts, but only a few become black belts. What do black belts have that other people don’t? (PERSISTENCE!)
