In attention stance, heels are together, toes slightly out, knees just unlocked but not bent, hips tucked, tummy held
in just a bit, chest lifted just a bit, chin tucked and eyes straight forward. In EMA we all do ¼ bows. From attention, hands touch sides, arms straight, and hinge forward at the hips about 45 degrees. Keep the head down, and the eyes down. Never bow with the head and eyes up.
EMA Ready Motion is the right hand balled into a fist, with the left hand placed on the knuckles of the right hand. This is always done from attention stance.
The right fist represents martial arts, self-defence, combat, courage, and strength, and the left hand represents
control, constraint, and peace. We are human weapons, but we also learn the ability to control that power through our mental training in martial arts.
