This week we challenge the negative thoughts you have. Everyone has negative thoughts. When you have a negative thought, you can help yourself feel better if you replace it with a more realistic and helpful perspective.
I can’t do anything right. < Sometimes I get things wrong and that’s ok. Everyone does.
I will never be any good. < It’s takes time to be good at something. I’ll keep trying!
I better not cry. < Crying is normal for boys and girls! And sometimes it helps!
Maybe people will laugh at me. < They probably won’t even notice or will make similar mistakes.
USE STOPP TO CURB NEGATIVE THOUGHTS
S: STOP – stop what you are doing.
T: TAKE A BREATH – after you stop, take a step back and calm yourself with breathwork.
O: OBSERVE – what thoughts are you having, how does my body feel, how am I feeling and behaving right now?
P: PLAN – what is the most important thing for me to do right now.
P: PROCEED – full steam ahead once you have a new plan.
